Day 1: Arrive Paro

  • Spend a day exploring the historic town of Paro.
  • Visit the National Museum.

Day 2: Transfer to Punakha. 4 hours drive

  • Drive to Punakha with a short break at Dochula pass.
  • Visit Punakha Dzong built in 1637.

Day 3: Transfer to Bumthang. 7/8 hrs drive.

  • Journey to Bumthang with an en-route visit at Trongsa Dzong and the Tadzong or the  watch tower.
  • Cross Yotungla pass and drive through chummey valley to Ura.

Day 4, 5, 6 and 7: Ura excursions

  • Enjoy four days with the community of Ura. Enjoy day walks through the valley and surrounding hills, visit local farms growing wheat and barley, meet yak-herders and discover forests carpeted with mushrooms and enjoy fresh dishes. Visit the local weavers, discover local monasteries, relax in a hot stone bath and enjoy local folk music. Immerse yourself in village life.  

Day 4: Ura Cultural trip

Day 5: Day trip to Shingkhar valley

Day 6: Two options for the day based on the interest of the guests.

  1. Hike to Wangthang monastery
  2. Village tour and meet the elderly people of the village and participate in the activities that are going on at the village including the cattle milking in the morning.

Day 7: Local event and Local therapy

  • Hot-stone bath experience.

Day 8:  Leave Ura to Chamkhar valley.

  • Leave Ura at explore Bumthang valley. Visit the burning lake (Mebartsho).
  • Visit Jakar Dzong, Kurjey Lhakhang and Jampa Lhakhang. 
  • Wangduecholing palace museum visit

Day 9: Journey to Gangtey. 5/6 hrs

  • Drive to Gangtey and explore Phobjika Valley.

Day 10: Transfer to Thimphu, drive 5 hrs.  

  • Leave Phobjikha valley and proceed to Thimphu.
  • Visit National Memorial Chorten , Buddha point and Centennial farmers market.

Day 11: Thimphu

  • Thimphu Local tour includes visit to:
  • Traditional Paper Factory and Weaving Centre.
  • Institute for 13 traditional arts and crafts of Bhutan; Bhutan Takin Preserve.
  • Visit toThangtong Dewachen Nunnery; the first nunnery in the Capital.

Day 12: Day excursion to Taktsang.

  • Take a day excursion on foot to the renowned Taktsang Monastery, also known as Tiger’s Nest.

Day 13: Homeward Journey

Depart from Paro Airport.

  • Accommodation in 3-star hotels (upgradable on request)
